Exhibition “Ukraine in Miniature” has launched its European tour, with Finland as its first destination

On June 23rd, in the city of Seinäjoki, Finland, our travelling exhibition “Ukraine in Miniature” kicked off its European tour.

This interactive exhibition highlights the significance of Ukraine’s immovable cultural heritage, currently under threat due to Russia’s full-scale invasion. Featuring 41 miniature 3D models, videos, and a VR tour, the exhibition showcases Ukraine’s cultural landmarks, including buildings destroyed by Russia`s aggression. The aim of the exhibition is to underscore Ukraine’s cultural importance within the European context and to illustrate the widespread devastation caused by Russia’s brutal full-scale invasion.

The grand opening of the exhibition was attended by hundreds of guests including local residents, representatives of Ukrainian diaspora, and media.

They were all greeted by Lina Romanukha, USAID/ENGAGE Senior Arts and Culture Program Manager, and Ville Koivistо, organizer of the international music festival, “Provinssi.”

“It’s so moving to see so many compatriots who are delighted by the fact that local residents of Seinäjoki are able to find out more about Ukraine, its rich cultural heritage, and the losses it has suffered due to Russia’s aggression. Our exhibition, despite its aesthetic form, is a call to protect not only Ukraine’s cultural heritage but also our shared European values,” noted Ms. Romanukha

The exhibition will travel next to the following cities:

  • July 8–17: Latvia, Dzintari Concert Hall (Turaidasiela 1, Jūrmala).
  • July 19–20: Latvia, Positivus Festival (Lucavsala, Riga).
  • July 23 – August 3: France (Parc de la Villette, 211 Av. Jean Jaures, Paris).
  • August 7–12: Hungary, Sziget Festival (Május 9. park, Budapest).
