On October 19, Ukrainians celebrate the All-Ukrainian Human Responsibility Day to spread responsible behavior in society, as well as commemorate the renowned Ukrainian thinker and doer Bohdan Hawrylyshyn who authoted the “Declaration of Human Responsibilities”. Today, more than ever, it is worth remembering that to establish a democratic, inclusive and efficient society, it is necessary to take responsibility at all levels.

Are Ukrainians optimistic about their country’s victory and overall future? According to the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation poll, 92% believe Ukraine will win the war with Russia. Although the war has taken a significant toll on people’s lives, most citizens feel hope when thinking of their personal future (56%) and the future of their country (66%). New Europe Center Analyzes How the European Countries’ Support for Ukraine Changed Since the Beginning of Full-Scale War
Although Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has united European countries, after seven months of war calls to reduce support for Ukraine appeared. Analysts of the New Europe Center released the analytical material “Winter is Сoming: How to Maintain the Support of European Societies for Ukraine?” analyzing the concerns and moods of Europeans, the opinions of experts from EU member states, and the topics that European media discussed the most.

Democratic Initiative Foundation Presents Findings on Shifts in Attitude towards Decommunization, Russian Church, and Nationalism
On October 13, the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiative Foundation and the Razumkov Center presented the results of the poll “How the War has Changed Attitudes of Ukrainians Towards Decommunization, Russian Church, and Nationalism.” The poll showed that 67% of Ukrainians positively assess the collapse of the Soviet Union, 59% support the designation of the Soviet regime as totalitarian and condemn its terror, and 57% are positive about renaming toponyms named after the personas of the Soviet Union, Russia, or the Russian empire.

Gender Z Explains Whether Civil Partnership is an Alternative to Same-Sex Marriage
In summer 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi rejected the petition on the legalization of same-sex marriages but suggested the government seek alternatives, including civil partnership. Gender Z released an article to explain whether this step is a “humiliating, but effective mechanism” for the LGBT+ community. The author argues that while same-sex marriages face opposition from religious groups and a considerable part of society, recognition of civil partnership may be a way to ensure LGBT+ community rights.
