One hundred days of war are almost gone. Despite hardships, day by day Ukrainians discover another pool of strength and resilience inside them. One can hardly make up a metaphor to describe their courage, empathy, and creativity.

Since the beginning of the war, Ukrainian organizations have faced new challenges, needs, and threats. Often when they lack the required resources, a well-established system of partnerships is a solution. According to the research conducted by Zagoriy Foundation, most of the surveyed organizations (84 out of 98) are open to collaboration with new partners during the war. Answering what they can offer to others, 78 indicated readiness to coordinate efforts, 63 could provide information support, while 61 would help with contacts and networking. On the other hand, organizations mentioned financial (81) and humanitarian (66) aid on top of their own needs.

CSOs Urge EU States to Grant Ukraine Candidate Status

Activists Create a Tool to Track Public Opinions on the War

The civic network OPORA created an online tool “War Speeches” to monitor the officials` opinions, track Russia`s public discourse on the war against Ukraine and predict future plans of the aggressor. The instrument could help the Ukrainian government and international partners to plan steps to counter Russia. It also allows all users to monitor the reaction of world leaders to the statements and provocations of the occupier.

The CHESNO movement is initiating the collection of samples of informational resistance of Ukrainians for the exhibition “War 2022: Information Front”. EdCamp Launches an Inclusive Course for Teachers

EdCamp Ukraine invites teachers and parents to take the course “Inclusion is not an illusion.” It is devoted to the adaptation of children with special educational needs during martial law. Participants will learn how to help a child adapt to rapidly changing conditions, be in crowded places, calmly respond to loud sounds, and changes in light, what to do with stereotypical and undesirable behavior, and how to start lessons with a child anywhere in the world. Activists Amplify Ukrainian Voices at Cannes International Film Festival

On May 21, DocuDays UA and Ukrainian Institute organized a presentation of four Ukrainian documentaries at the Cannes International Film Festival. The projects include “Company of Steel” directed by Yuliia Hontaruk; “Lagoons. Battle for Paradise” directed by Serhii Lysenko; “Listening to the World” directed by Liza Smith and “Peace for Nina” directed by Zhanna Maksymenko-Dovhych. The event aimed at providing opportunities for Ukrainian filmmakers to continue their work while the film industry funding is suspended in Ukraine due to the war, as well as to amplify the voices of Ukrainians throughout the international art platforms.

Funding Opportunity! Support to Civil Society and Civic Population of Ukraine in the Time of War

The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv announces an open competition for organizations that promote the development of civil society in Ukraine. Priority will be given to initiatives aimed at reducing the destruction and suffering caused by the Russian government, as well as supporting Ukrainians who have suffered the most from the war.
