More Ukrainians every year identify corruption as one of the most pressing issue Ukraine faces. According to a study by the National Anti-Corruption Agency titled “Corruption in Ukraine 2023: Understanding, Perception, Prevalence,” respondents rank corruption alongside with Russia’s military aggression and low wages as the country’s primary issues. Additionally, the level of intolerance towards corruption is increasing annually – in 2023, 76.6% of respondents do not justify bribery, unofficial services, or gifts for resolving important matters.
This trend is confirmed by the nationwide survey “National Corruption Perceptions and Experience Poll 2023,” which shows an 11% increase in intolerance from 2021 to 2023.
